In 2007 the high school started with 21 Grade 8 learners. In 2011 we had our first Grade 12 group. Currently we have 30 Grade 12 learners.
From what we have heard and read, the main differentiating factor from one school to another is its staff. MPS High School boasts with a team of dedicated and enthusiastic teachers that make a significant difference in the lives of its learners.
The smaller classes, emphasis on respect, the setting of Christian values and norms and the acknowledgement of the individual, creates an environment in which the learners can develop and grow to become responsible adults who can fill key positions in the community. A school consists of buildings and facilities, but, especially, people. The staff, learners and parents are the heartbeat of the school!
We have seen wonderful growth and look forward to an exciting future.
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND A BALANCED EDUCATION
Since the inception of the school, academic excellence has always been the primary objective, with the focus of offering a balanced education, in culture, sport and leadership, to our exceptional learners who leave school to function as primary members in society.
We offer a wide range of subjects, taught by experienced and well-qualified teachers, to learners who wish to obtain an education that is a cut above the mediocrity.
Our academic record is one of great success! Boasting an unblemished set of excellent results, with the necessary support by an accomplished and passionate academic staff, we pride ourselves by being rated as one of the top 10 schools in the Western Cape. Our annual certificates of excellence enhance our vestibules as an encouragement to our learners to set high goals and never be satisfied with mediocre achievement.
The smaller classes, emphasis on respect, the setting of Christian values and norms and the acknowledgement of the individual, creates an environment in which the learners can develop and grow to voicing an opinion, not fearing to differ from popular tends. Various opportunities are created so that learners in all grades can develop leadership skills, so important in careers and in society today.
Our emphasis in participation in sport and cultural activities aims to develop the child in a full-rounded adult fit to face the world and its challenges.
At MPS we believe in rewarding learners for academic, sport, cultural and leadership achievements, either offered at school or extra-mural participation.
We are grounded in traditional values and teaching traditions, keeping abreast with the latest trends and educational development. WE TAKE PRIDE IN WHAT AND HOW WE TEACH!
I am Proud to be Head of Faculty of a thriving learning community with supportive staff, directors and parents.
I look forward to meeting you!
